Draw splines

Home tab > Draw group > Polyline menu > Spline, SPLINE

A spline is a smooth parametric curve containing at least two fit points.

Do the following:

1. Indicate the start point.

   You can also indicate the spline with three points by entering 3p on the command line.

2. Indicate any number of fit points or enter a keyword:

   • Close – Close the spline by connecting the last fit point to the first fit point.

   • Undo – Remove the previous fit point.

   • Start tangent – Change the direction of the start tangent of the spline.

   • End tangent – Change the direction of the end tangent of the spline.

3. Stop drawing by pressing Enter.

The spline is based on a mathematical model (cubic spline, NURBS), in which the program uses fit points to calculate an array of control points. The program then draws a curve that runs smoothly through all the fit points.
