Draw construction lines

Home tab > Draw group > Line menu > Construction line, XLINE

Construction line is an infinitely long line that always spans the whole drawing area despite the zoom level. Construction lines are useful for example as reference lines.

Construction line through two points

Draw a construction line that passes trough two specified points.

1. Indicate the base point.

2. Indicate the direction point.

Horizontal or vertical construction line

Draw a construction line that is parallel to either the X or Y axis of the coordinates.

1. Enter keyword Horizontal or Vertical on the command line.

2. Indicate the base point, trough which the construction line will pass.

Construction line at an angle

Draw a construction line that is at a specified angle in relation to the coordinates.

1. Enter the keyword Angle on the command line.

2. Enter the angle on the command line and press Enter.

3. Indicate the base point, trough which the construction line will pass.

Offset construction line

Draw a construction line that is parallel to an already existing object and offset from it by a specified amount from.

1. Enter the keyword Offset on the command line.

2. Select the object the construction line will parallel.

3. Indicate direction of the offset.

4. Enter the offset distance on the command line and press Enter.
