File > Save as > Batchsave, BATCHSAVE |
With this function, you can save or email a batch of files in the selected file format. You can also execute operations on the files.
You can handle files from different directories. The files do not have to be of the same file format.
You can select a maximum of 1,000 files.
Do the following:
-
In the Queue save dialog, click Select files.
-
Select whether you want to select the files from the hard drive or from the open files.
-
Select the files.
-
If you want to remove a file from the list, select the file and click Delete.
-
Select the file format.
-
If you selected the DWG or DXF file format, you can edit the save settings by clicking Preferences. For more information, see Manage conversion files.
-
Define the operations that you want to execute during the save by selecting the Operations tab.
-
Compress to zip format – Select whether you want to compress the files into one or separate zip files. You can also define a password.
Compressing the files to zip format reduces the size of the file without destroying information, which makes it easier to send the files by email.
-
Remove unused table objects – Select the objects that you want to remove.
Unused table objects are objects that have no references in the drawing, such as layers with no objects or unused text styles. For more information, see Remove unused items from drawings.
-
Zoom – Select whether you want to zoom to show all objects (Extents) or to the drawing limits (Limits). For more information, see Zoom the view.
-
Bind all reference drawings – Select whether you want to bind active reference drawings or all reference drawings.
The program checks whether the selected drawings have reference drawings and binds them to the parent drawing so that you do not have to add the reference drawings to the list. For more information, see Manage reference drawings.
-
Execute command script/macro – Enter the command script on the field or select a macro file by clicking the
button. For more information, see Command scripts and macros.
-
-
If you want to save the files, do the following:
-
Click Save. The Queue save dialog opens.
-
Define the save directory either by selecting the original directory or by clicking the
button and selecting another directory.
-
Click OK. The program processes the files, executes the selected operations, and saves the files.
If the selected drawings contain reference drawings and you did not select to bind them, the program asks you how to handle them. Select whether you want to include the reference drawings and change their file format and whether you want to handle all reference drawings the same way.
-
Finish the save by clicking OK.
-
-
If you want to send the files by email, do the following:
-
Click Send. The program processes the files and executes the selected operations.
If the selected drawings contain reference drawings and you did not select to bind them, the program asks you how to handle them. Select whether you want to include the reference drawings and change their file format and whether you want to handle all reference drawings the same way.
-
Start writing the email by clicking OK. The program opens the email program to a new email and attaches the files to it.
-
Write the email and send it.
