Modifying objects
Modifying objects that contain common attributes will not, in most cases, affect the attribute information. Copy, mirror, move, join and stretch commands will not affect attribute information. Copied objects will contain the same attribute information as the original object.
-
Chamfer, Fillet, Join – If the first object you select contains a common attribute, the object resulting from the edit command, such as a fillet arc, will also contain the same common attribute.
-
Break, Crop – Commands that break objects into two separate object will result in two objects, that contain the same attribute information as the original object.
-
Modify – You can modify objects containing common attributes just like any other objects, including the attribute values.
-
Explode – If you explode a polyline, a circle, an arc or a text object, the resulting objects will lose their attribute information. Exploding a symbol will not destroy the attribute information, but the attributes will not be a part of any symbol, once the symbol has been exploded.
-
Attextract – Common attributes can be extracted with the ATTEXTRACT command just like other attributes.
