Save a symbol to the symbol directory and place it in a text menu.

Save a symbol to a text menu

Do the following:

  1. On the command line, enter the keyword SYMTMENU.

  2. Enter a name for the text menu or accept the default name by pressing enter.

  3. Select the objects that you want to save as a symbol.

  4. Confirm the selection by pressing Enter.

  5. Indicate the basepoint of the symbol. The User symbol dialog opens.

  6. Enter a name for the symbol. The name can have a maximum of 15 characters.

  7. Select whether you want to use the default scale factor or define the scale whenever you insert the symbol.

  8. Select whether you want to use the default angle or define the angle whenever you insert the symbol.

  9. Enter a desctiption text for the symbol. The description text can have a maximum of 40 characters, and you can view it when you hover your cursor over the icon in the icon menu.

  10. Click OK.

The program creates the text menu file, if necessary, and saves the symbol to the text menu.

Insert symbols from a text menu

Do the following:

  1. On the command line, enter the keyword TEXTMENU.

  2. Enter the name of the symbol menu file. The default file name is USERSYM.SMF. The User symbols dialog opens.

  3. Select a symbol that you want to insert on the list.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Indicate the location of the symbol.

  6. If necessary, indicate the scale factor and the angle of the symbol.
