Release notes

CADMATIC software has three main releases annually. The release name identifies the publishing year, tertial (T1-T3), and possible patch update designation (R2 or higher). These release notes describe new features, improvements, and bug fixes made in software version 2024T3 and its patch updates.

Starting from 2025, CADMATIC software will have two main releases annually. The release name identifies the publishing year, the half (H1 or H2), and possible patch update designation (R2 or higher).

New features and improvements in 2024T3

This software release contains the following new features and improvements.

Category	Description
UI	Added a tool for creating your own tabs for the ribbon.
File backups	Backup files saved to the active documents directory are now saved to their own folder.
Groups	Added a possibility to move objects belonging to the same group as one.
Grid	Added 75 as an option to the info bar's grid menu.
UI	Added the ability to use RGB colors as drawing area color.
Online help	The software online help is now primarily opened from the docs.cadmatic.com website. If the requested help topic is unavailable for some reason, the online help installed with the software is used instead. The user can also decide to always use the online help installed with the software. You can find the setting for this by selecting File > Settings > General settings. Show/hide image

Bug fixes in 2024T3

This software release contains the following bug fixes.

Import/export	Fixed Export to WMF, EMF or BMP format.
Hatch	Fixed a bug in how deleted hatches are handled, that could cause the program to crash.
UI	Fixed a bug that caused linetype auxiliary styles to be incorrectly displayed in the Text style dropdown menu.
IFC	Added missing IFC4 entity types.
IFC	Fixed a bug that could cause objects in IFC4 model to miss display color.
IFC	Fixes and improvements to IFC import.
Cloud	Fixed a bug that could cause cloud to be drawn in the incorrect location when using keywords Rectangular or Polygonal.
Reference drawings	Fixed how OLE frames embedded in reference drawings are handled.
Layers	Fixed a bug that could cause the Layer dialog to function extremely slow in certain situations.

Misc.	Fixed a bug that could cause some menus not to load during start up.
Snap	Fixed a bug in how elements in turned off layers are handled, that could cause snap to work slowly.
