With these functions you can set the text alignment in reference to the basepoint. The alignment remains when you edit the contents of the text.
There are several different points of vertical and horizontal alignment and two additional modes that allow you to fit or align the text between two points. The options are:

Align left

Align center

Align right
-
Align left, vertical center

Align center, vertical center

Align right, vertical center

Align left, vertical top

Align center, vertical top

Align right, vertical top

Align by two points – The program will change the size of the text so that its height matches the distance between the two points.

Fit between two points – In the fit mode the text object will be stretched to fit the distance between two points.
You can also set alignment in the text settings.
