Copy the texts to be translated

Copy all texts above the original texts. This way the drawing will be bilingual when the texts below will be translated.

Open the drawing

Open the drawing file to be translated. The sample drawing TranslatingExercise.drw can be found in subfolder Samples in User files directory.

Select File > OpenExercise drawings directory and open TranslatingExercise.drw.

Copy the texts

Set Filter to text during copying because then it is easy to select only texts.

Set filter on either clicking it in status bar or by selecting Tools tab > Drawing settings group > Filter. Select filter object Text.

Select Home tab > Modify group > Copy.

When program asks to select objects to copy type a keyword All and press Enter.

Keyword All selects all objects. Because filter is on, only texts will be selected.

There is no need to copy quite all texts. For example the texts for heights (h=2200) can be left out.

Now all text are displayed using dashed lines (they are currently selected). When you click a selected object it's selection will be removed. This way you can remove certain texts from the selection set.

Click one by one on the texts that need not to be translated (h=1500, h=2200 ja h=300).

Accept the selection set by pressing Enter.

Program asks for a basepoint for the copying, enter coordinates of the origin: 0,0.

Enter @0,70 as the offset. This means that the texts will be copied 70 mm above the original texts.

Finish copying by pressing Esc.

Set filter off. It is recommended to set filter off straight away because it may disturb your editing later (if you don't remember that the filter is on).

Set filter off either clicking it in status bar or by selecting Tools tab > Drawing settings group > Filter.
