Save parts of drawings

File > Save as > Save a part, PARTSAVE

Save a selected area, view or a symbol definition.

• Window – Save objects inside a defined area in a separate file.

  1. Enter the first corner point.

  2. Enter the second corner point.

  3. Enter the file name.

• View – Save the current view in a separate file.

• Symbol definition – Save an existing symbol definition in a separate file.

  1. Enter the symbol name.

  2. Enter the file name.

Certain settings, such as grid spacing and ortho mode, are saved in the drawing file. When you open a drawing the setting that were in effect when the drawing was last saved, will take effect as you open the drawing. The program will automatically add the correct extension to the file name.

As with any command where you select objects, the filter settings affect which objects will actually be selected.
