Print drawings in pieces

File > Print > Print in pieces, PPRINT

If you have an A4/A3 size printer, you can print larger drawings in A4/A3 size pieces. PPRINT automatically divides the drawing into smaller areas and prints them.

Do the following:

  1. Specify print settings:
    • Select a printing device.

    • Select a print style table.

    • Select the are you want to print (Limits, View, Extents, Windows).

    • Select paper size and scale.

  2. Click OK.

The number of separate prints is shown in the Print Settings tab. The number is calculated according to print area, scale and paper size. You should always check the number of prints before you execute the actual printing.

Preview

Preview shows you a grid of separate prints. Each rectangle in the drawing represents one print. This grid is not printed on paper. Preview can be closed by pressing Enter.

Note: You cannot move the grid in preview.

Print print file or PDF file

Check this option if you want to print to a print file or a PDF file. Enter the name of the print file in the field. You can select the print folder by clicking the button next to the field. The program will automatically add the .PLT or .PDF extension.  If no print directory has been defined, the program will print to the directory defined in the file settings. If no print directory has been defined, the program will print to the User files directory. The number of the piece is suffixed to the print file name (e.g. Drawing_1.plt). By checking the Join PDF files option you can join the pieces into a single PDF file.
