Application databases

With the help of the database application (DB), data can be transferred from the drawings to the project database, where different lists and reports can be created.

DB helps in data management and speeds up the operation by removing useless routines and reducing the number of errors.

The application consists of the following databases:

• EDBCommon.sqlite

  • Includes database content and settings installed by Electrical applications

  • Does not store any user-created data

  • Located on user's workstation

  • Updated during the installation of Electrical applications

• EDBUserCommon.sqlite

• Includes user-created database content e.g.  cable types, plates, addinfos etc.

• By default, located in the ...Draw [version number]\Electrical\Shared\DB directory.

• Location can be defined to the server with Shared databases setting.

• ElectricDB_.sqlite

  • Product databases installed by Electrical, DB Product databases installation program

  • Does not store any user-created data

  • Located on user's workstation.

  • Updated by Electrical DB Product databases installation.

• ElectricDB_OMA1...9.sqlite

• User product databases

• By default, located in the ...Draw [version number]\Electrical\Shared\DB directory.

• Location can be defined to the server with the Shared databases setting.

• EDBUser.sqlite

• Includes project default settings and default content

• By default, located in the ...Draw [version number]\Electrical\Shared\Data directory.

• Location can be defined to the server with the Shared data files setting.

• Automatically copied to new projects as the project database (EDBProject.sqlite)

• EDBProject.sqlite/EDBProject.mdb

  • Project-specific database located in the project folder

  • Automatically created to new projects. The Electrical DB application collects project-specific data into this database.

  • MDB is a legacy format that is still supported but not delivered in the installation package.
