Print drawing frames

Print the drawing frame or print frame. You can print multiple print frames simultaneously.

Do the following:

  1. Select the drawing frames or print frames you want to print.

  2. Specify the print settings

    • Select a printing device.

    • Select a print style table.

    • Select paper size.

    • Select scale. The drawing can be printed according to the scale defined in the drawing frame or using fit scaling.

  3. Click OK.

Preview

Preview lets you examine the print before sending it to the printer. The paper layout, line widths and colors can be checked in preview. You can also copy the preview picture to the Windows clipboard () or save it in bmp file ().

Print print file or PDF file

Select this option if you want to print to a print file or a PDF file. Enter the name of the print file in the field. You can select the print folder by clicking the Browse button button next to the field. The program will automatically add the .plt or .pdf extension.  If no print directory has been defined, the program will print to the directory defined in the file settings. If no print directory has been defined, the program will print to the User files directory.

PLT and PDF prints paper size

Paper size is selected the same way as if printing to paper. If the print area is smaller than the selected paper size, the PLT driver will automatically remove the empty trailers. If it does not work, either the driver is not capable of doing that (Windows driver needs to be updated) or the automatic cutter is switched off in the Windows printer settings. By default, empty trailers are not removed from PDF files. Empty trailers can be removed by selecting Remove empty trailers from PDF-print in print settings dialog.

File name

You can set the print file name to be set automatically according to an attribute of a certain symbol in the drawing.

Do the following:

  1. Select Print file or Print PDF.

  2. Select Define file name by symbol and attributes.

  3. Click Set.

  4. Select a symbol in the symbol list, or type the symbol name in the field.

  5. Select max. 3 attributes that together define the print file name.
