Drawing types

When you set the drawing type, the correct ribbon tab with suitable functions and symbols automatically opens when you open the drawing. The drawing type is saved to the drawing file, and it also affects the behavior of the application in regards to activating specific functions.

The available drawing types are presented below.

Single-line toolset

All kinds of single-line documents can be created with the functions on the Single-line tab. The sheet method is utilized: in the same drawing file, the different sheets are located on different layers.

The single-line drawing types available are:

  • Single-line diagram – For creating any kind of single-line documents such as key single-line, distribution single-line, block diagrams, etc.

  • Load diagram – For creating horizontal or vertical load diagrams presenting feeders of one distribution board by using feeder symbol packages defined in feeder properties. A flexible way to define graphical feeder packages.

  • Distribution board (table) – A special type to be used only with the old Distribution board table style where graphical feeder package symbols are combined to a table. Only horizontal style is available.

Layout toolset

All kinds of arrangement and layout drawings can be created with the functions on the Layout tab. Layers based on setting files are utilized.

The layout drawing types available are:

  • Arrangement – For creating arrangement documents with real measurements in the model space. Distances can be measured from the documents, and the X, Y and Z coordinates are saved to the Electrical database.

  • Arrangement (not in scale) – For creating arrangement documents without any measurements, such as cable length. This type can be used, for example, for site documents done in metric scale or if there is a need to show devices in another layout drawing without coordinates effecting the database.

Schematics toolset

All kinds of schematics or multi-line style documents can be created with the functions on the Schematics tab. The sheet method is utilized: in the same drawing file, the different sheets are located on different layers.

The only available drawing type is Multi-line diagram.

Cabinet Layout toolset

All kinds of cabinet layout drawings (cabinets and space reservations for devices) can be created with the functions on the Cabinet Layout tab. The sheet method is utilized: in the same drawing file, the different sheets are located on different layers.

The only available drawing type is Cabinet layout, which is suitable for cabinet layouts drawn with real measurement in the model space.

No application

It is also possible to create documents which are not connected to any specific toolsets, such as basic CAD documents done with another software.

The drawing types available are:

  • Table – An Electrical document type for old table forms. Functions related to this drawing type are located on the Electrical tab, so you need to activate another toolset by selecting a drawing, which has a drawing type set.

  • Other – For handling basic CAD documents done with another software, mostly using basic CAD functions.
