Manage layer groups

Home tab > Layers group > Layer dialog menu > Layer groups, LAYERGROUP

Create and manage layer groups.

The left side of the Layer group dialog shows you the layers that exist in the drawing, and the right side shows you the layers that belong to a selected layer group.

Do the following:

  1. Create a new layer group:

    1. In the Group field, enter a name for the layer group.

    2. Click Save.

  2. Delete a layer group:

    1. Select the group that you want to delete.

    2. Click Delete.

    3. Click Yes.

  3. Add an individual layer to a group:

    1. Select the group that you want to add a layer to.

    2. On the Layers list, select the layer that you want to add to a group.

    3. Click the > button.

    4. Click Save.

  4. Add multiple layers to a group:

    • Add all layers whose status is On by clicking On >. Add all layers that are turned off, locked, unlocked, frozen, or thawed by clicking their respective buttons.

    • In the Wildcards field, enter a name of a layer and click the > button.

      You can enter asterisks, which stand for any string of characters, or question marks, which stand for any single character. So, entering A* results in the program filtering for all layers that start with the letter A, and enterin A?E results in the program filtering for all layers whose first letter is A and third letter is E.

  5. Remove an individual layer from a group:

    1. On the Group list, select the layer.

    2. Click the < button.

    3. Click Save.

  6. Remove all layers from a group:

    1. Click the << button.

    2. Click Save.

  7. Set the layer status:

    1. On the Group drop-down menu, select a group.

    2. Set the desired status for all layers by clicking the corresponging button on the right side of the dialog.

  8. Close the dialog by clicking Close.
