Add and edit clip boundaries

Home tab > Symbol group >  Edit menu > Clip boundary

Hide a part of a symbol or a reference drawing.

Add a new clip boundary

Do the following:

  1. Select Clip boundary.

  2. Select the object that you want to clip.

  3. Enter the keyword New on the command line.

  4. Enter the keyword for the shape of the clip boundary:

    • Polyline – Indicate an existing polyline to use as a clip boundary.

    • Polygonal – Draw a polygon to determine the clip boundary.

    • Rectangular – Draw a rectangle to determine the clip boundary.

The program creates the clip boundary and sets it on.

Set the clip boundary on or off

Do the following:

  1. Select Clip boundary.

  2. Select the object whose clip boundary you want to set on or off.

  3. Enter the keyword On or Off on the command line

The program changes the status of the clip boundary.

Draw the clip boundary

Do the following:

  1. Select Clip boundary.

  2. Select the object whose clip boundary you want to draw on the drawing.

  3. Enter the keyword Generate polyline on the command line.

The program draws the clip boundary as a polyline.

Delete a clip boundary

Do the following:

  1. Select Clip boundary.

  2. Select the object whose clip boundary you want to delete.

  3. Enter the keyword Delete on the command line.

The program deletes the clip boundary. If you drew the boundary as a polyline, the polyline remains in the drawing.
