Icon menus
ICONMENUS
Icon menus are floating menus like toolbars, but you cannot dock them. Icon menus are mainly available in some specialized CADMATIC subprograms. You can see the tip text of an icon by holding the cursor still over an icon.
You can lock the icon menu by clicking the pin in the top right corner of the icon menu. When you close the program and restart it, the floating icon menus return to their places on the screen. You can close an icon menu by clicking X in the top right corner.
You can also make your own or modify existing icon menus.
Do the following:
-
Draw the button faces with CADMATIC. You can draw the icon menu button face just like any other drawing. Colors of the objects correspond the colors displayed on the screen. There is no need to draw the gray background, the program will take care of that automatically.
As you draw the buttons, you must decide whether you want to save them as single buttons or in an icon library. We recommend saving buttons as single icons, since there are two distinct advantages.
You can use a single button in multiple icon menus.
You can easily edit the icon menu by moving or deleting single buttons.
-
Save the button faces as single icons or in an icon library with the Icon function.
-
Write the actual menu file with the command scripts (.MNU file).
-
Insert a line calling the icon menu in another menu (keyboard, drop-down or another icon menu).
In the menu file, you can set specific icon menus to always stay open by entering a row KeepVisible=1. For more information, see Menus.
