Devices

A device is a central part of the program. The project consists of devices which can be located in a physical location or in an abstract circuit, and appear in a drawing as an occurrence.

A device separated by a device identifier (-) usually appears in a location. The device ID is actually not part of the location, even though it can indicate that a device is located inside another device. Such a device under another device in hierarchy is called a subdevice.

The device identifier can contain several device IDs, i.e. subdevices, and pins. The device identifier appears in the hierarchy linkage and circuit ID systems, too.

The Devices tab shows the project's devices grouped according to the location selected from the project tree view, for example.
