Mass edit in Excel

Do the following:

  1. In the database tool, select the Cables tab.

  2. From the project tree, select location =123+MCC1. Only the cables leaving from the distribution board +MCC1 are shown in the grid.

  3. Click the left-most black cell on the header row to select all items in the grid.

    Alternatively, select the cables with Ctrl or Shift.

  4. Right-click on the grid, and select Edit rows in Excel. Excel opens.

    • Grey color means the value cannot be edited; usually editing is then done in the grid with the right-click menu options.

    • White color means the value can be edited.

  5. In the first ID cell, enter the value MCC1-W1, and then from the cell’s bottom right corner drag the green square to the last ID in the ID column. Excel changes the IDs as follows:

  7. Minimize Excel without closing it, and go back to the database tool.

  8. Right-click on the grid, and select Import rows from Excel to import back the edited data. The changed IDs are updated in the grid:

  10. Open the E-0-Schematics-01-501.drw drawing, and synchronize it with the button to see the changed IDs.
