eShare user interface

The eShare user interface is available for all user functions of eShare like Model, Map, Search, and Documents, both in eShare App and in web browsers.

When you use eShare App, you get the full functionality of eShare, and the size of the models is limited by the hardware of the computer used to run eShare App. We recommend this for most eShare users. Windows remains as the required operating system for eShare App users.

Those who wish to use eShare with a browser now have the option to do so without installing the 3D component. We officially support Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome for browser use. When you use eShare with a browser, most of the features are exactly the same as in eShare App, e.g. Map, Search, and Documents. If you use eShare in a browser, the model view does not have all the same functionalities as eShare App. The missing functionalities will be implemented in future releases.

eShare App carries the full range of eShare functionalities. We recommend eShare App for most eShare users.

Here are the differences between the Model view in eShare in browser use compared to eShare App:

Differences between eShare App and browser

  • Model Size: The technology used to implement the plugin-free 3D viewer in browsers supports only 2 to 4 GB of memory, depending on whether you are using the latest browsers. You should be able to open all the projects you could open in browser previously also with the new 3D viewer. 3D view in browser now has 64-bit support, which with experimental WebAssembly features enables even 16 GB models.

  • Model Tree

    • You have limited options in selecting and deselecting multiple objects

  • Measure

    • You can measure distances with points normally

    • You can only measure free distances in direct line of sight

  • Collisions

    • You can view collision test results

Missing features in browser

  • 3D mouse

  • 4D sequences

  • ID Labels

  • Navigation Map

  • Piperun tool
