Construction Detail

Creates a new construction detail. A construction detail can be created from a construction part in sectional view or from the endflag belonging to a profile in bulb view or even a complete profile.

Select a plate, bracket, (straight) profile or (straight) pillar in section of which a view has to be made. It is also possible to select the endflag of a profile in bulb view, in which case a construction detail around the first or second endshape will be made.

Area Limits – If selected, the area limitations can be entered instead of the Area Margin. The default values are dependent of the indicated construction or line and the area margin setting.

Area Margin – The area around the indicated construction is determined and will be increased with this margin.

Scale – The scale at which the construction detail will be presented.

Name – Additional part of the name. For orthogonal views, its part's position will always be part of the full name.

Insert detail – When selected, the construction detail will be inserted into the actual drawing and can be dragged to its position. By default this is not selected. This default setting can be changed in the System Management application, Extra > Customize > Miscellaneous.

Add symbol/title – A symbol indicating the position of the construction detail is added to the main drawing, together with a short indication. Besides that, the title of the construction detail can be added at the bottom or top of the construction detail.

Show detail box – If clicked, the detail box will be shown in Hull Viewer, if present. The text will change to Hide detail box automatically.

Function dependent options

2D Line / Two points / Construction: When switching to 2D Line, a 2D line segment can be selected which defines both its position and the area. The third point of the plane is defined perpendicular to the current viewing plane. When switching to Two Points, two points can be defined in a similar way as when creating line segments. When switching to Construction, a construction item can be selected. This is the default mode.
