Design Data
Tools > Exchange > Design Data
View and import design data (such as reference surfaces or reference planes) defined in another application to CADMATIC Hull, and create log entries to construction parts.
Select from the following functions:
Get Design Data – Create a connection with the design data server (e.g. the PIAS module Newlay) to retrieve information.
Start Design Data Server – The retrieved information is presented in an overview that displays the name, date and status for each reference surface.
Select the reference surface(s). Select Apply changes to local system to import all selected reference surfaces into the active block.
Note: To be able to connect to a Design Data Server, its IP address and port number need to be set in System Management > Extra > HiLTop > Design Data Server.
Log Entries – Add log entries on the construction created in the block. A log entry contains several parameters:
- Title
- Description
- Username
- Organization
- Timestamp
- Source application
- One or more references to a construction part within the block
- One or more file attachments
Log entries are part of construction data. Therefore, you can save the log entries to the COS server with both Save and Save construction.
