Insert Hull Library model

Tools > Hull Library > Insert Hull Library model

Inserts a model from the Hull Library into the active drawing.

The CADMATIC Hull Library browser

Select the desired Hull Library model in the CADMATIC Hull Library browser, which is displayed when you start the Insert Hull Library model function.

Folder tree – Shows the folders present in the Hull Library in a tree structure.

Folder content – Shows the Hull Library models present in the folder that is selected in the folder tree.

Model Name and Description – Shows the name and description (if applicable) of the model selected in the folder content area.

Model preview – Shows a graphical, three-dimensional image of the model selected in the folder content area. This preview can be interactively moved and rotated to allow it to be viewed from all angles.

Inserting a Hull Library model into the active drawing

Do the following:

  1. Make your selections in the main Hull Library window, and click OK.

  2. The Logistical data dialog opens. You set the logistical data for the inserted parts here. A list of logistical fields with their respective values is shown. The values will be added to the parts that are inserted into the project.

    • Select from the available logistical fields in the project in the logistical selection box on the left.
    • Set the desired value for the selected logistical field in the text box on the right, and click Add.
    • The selected logistical field and its value is added to the list.
    • To remove a list entry, select it, and press Del.
    • Once you have set all the necessary logistical data, click OK.
  3. Next, the Insert Hull Library model dialog opens. Define the desired position and orientation of the model to be inserted. The dialog has the following three tabs, of which Origin is active when the dialog opens:

    • Origin: Define the position and orientation of the model to be inserted.
    • Mirror: Insert a mirrored version of the model.
    • Rotate: Insert a rotated version of the model.

  4. Click OK to apply all provided input.
