Define the following profile information:

  • Profile name – The name of a profile is defined by the abbreviation of the profile type and its dimensions. For example, a Holland profile with the dimensions of 240x10 is named HP240X10.

  • Neutral – The neutral line position defined as the percentage (%) of the body height of the profile.

  • Length – Additional length for bending. The length of the profile is increased by the value set here. If defined, this value is used instead of the additional length set in System Management > Production > Profile Bending > Settings > Bending Length Added.

  • Factor – A factor used for calculating additional length that is added to the additional length set in Length. When a factor is defined, the system calculates the amplitude over the length of 1000 mm from the profile ends (or the whole profile length if it is shorter than 1000 mm). The system then increases the length of the profile at both ends using the following formula:

additional length set in Length + additional length set in Length x amplitude at the end of the profile x Factor

Example

The length of the profile is 5702 mm (i.e., more than 1000 mm).

  • When Factor is not set, and Length is set to 400 mm, the system calculates the amplitude over a length of 800 mm at the ends of the profile. If the calculated amplitude is 0 mm at the beginning of the profile and 6.85 mm at the end, the added length will be 0 mm at the beginning, and 400 mm at the end.

  • When Factor is set to 0.028, and Length is set to 400 mm, and the calculated value of the amplitude measured over 1000 mm is 1.4 mm at one end of the profile, and 9.63 mm at the other end, the total additional length is calculated as follows:

    • Length added to one end: 400 + 400 x 1.4 x 0.028 = 415.68 mm
    • Length added to the other end: 400 + 400 x 9.63 x 0.028 = 507.856 mm
