Find Setting

Edit > Find Setting

Search for the menu location of a setting.

Search for text – Type in any text. Use the asterisk character (*) as a wildcard that substitutes for any zero or more characters. For example, dxf*text. It is not necessary to add an asterisk at the beginning or end of the search text, as the search action automatically includes these.

Search filters – Search results can be filtered by enabling/disabling one or more of the following types:

  • Menu name – Searches all menu and submenu names for the given text.
  • Subject, description – Searches all subjects or setting descriptions for the given text.
  • Variable name – Searches all internal settings (environments, variables and files) for the given text.

Result – A list containing the search results will be displayed here. Depending on the search filter used, one or two columns are visible: Subject, description / Variable name in the first column, and Menu name showing the menu location of the setting in the second column. Subjects/descriptions are always surrounded by square brackets, for example [Hullviewer Model, HVM], whereas variable names are not.

  • Click a menu link to open the corresponding menu function. The search function will then be closed temporarily. The search function will be restored after the selected function is closed.
  • The system stores the ten latest search texts, which can be selected from the pull-down menu beside the input field.
