Import/Export Blocks

Default Import Paths
Define all the names (without spaces) and source directories that can be selected when using the Import Block function. A maximum of 15 locations can be defined. The first location is used as the default when the function is started.
The syntax for the import directory path is <drive>\<directory>.
It is also possible to import from a directory that has the project's object number as name. To do this, add the keyword object after the path. Example: c:\blocks\import object.
Default, Overwrite Drawings
Select the default state of the Overwrite drawings toggle: Enabled (default), or Disabled.
Default Export Paths
Define all the names (without spaces) and destination directories that can be selected when using the Export Block function. A maximum of 15 locations can be defined. The first location is used as the default when the function is started.
The syntax for the export directory path is <drive>\<directory>.
It is also possible to export to a directory that has the project's object number as name. To do this, add the keyword object after the path. Example: c:\blocks\export object.
Export Filter
Specify the files that will not be included in an exported block. It is possible to specify subdirectories.
Examples of entries:
- .dxf – Exclude all DXF files.
- cam/* – Exclude all files in the cam directory.
If there are no files specified here, the following file types will not be exported: core, .dxf, .r2, .out, .plo, cam/*.
Export Hole Models, Default
Hole models are used only when the block contains 2D drawings in which holes are added. When the project is completely in 3D, hole models are not created or used.
If this option is disabled, hole models are not selected to be exported by default when opening the Export Block function. If the option is enabled, hole models are selected to be exported by default.
Export Plantek Models, Default
When the Plantek application is used, Plantek models are copied into a project from the Plantek library. The project contains only these models. The system will never export Plantek models from the library itself.
If this option is disabled, Plantek models are not selected to be exported by default when opening the Export Block function. If the option is enabled, Plantek models are selected to be exported by default.
Shape database update
The shapes are imported to the %ncgshape% folder that contains the Hull shapes databases, instead of straight into the project. The shape data is important and the hull data has to be recalculated after the shape is activated. This means the system manager should take some actions after importing the shape.
If the new shape has another name or version, the system will notify about it. Then the system manager should activate and update the shape. The Hull lines have to be recalculated, and all constructions that are connected to the changed Hull group should be recalculated as well, because they may impact the whole project.
Note: If you are certain that the Hull shape is identical, you can skip the recalculation.
To lower the risk to shape database, the shape can be checked in a dummy project before recalculation actions are started.
