Default Selection Groups

Extra > Customize > Dimensioning > Default Selection Groups

Define the selection groups for the Draw > Dimension > Short Dimension and Chain Dimension functions in the 2D-Contek, 3D-Contek, Shell, and HiLTop applications.

A selection group functions as a selection filter when the chain or short dimensioning functions are used. When the user selects a selection group in the Chain Dimension dialog, only those types of items that belong to the group can be selected in the graphical window for dimensioning.

You can create new selection groups, edit the existing ones, and select one group as the default selection group. The default selection group appears at the top of the selection filter list and is applied if no other selection group or item type is selected.

Defining a selection group

Do the following:

1. Type in a description for the group. Spaces are not allowed in the name.
2. Add items to the group by clicking on them in the All types field. The selected items will appear in the Current type(s) field.
3. Click Save group when you have selected all the desired items.

To edit a selection group, click on it in the Available group(s) field. The items belonging to the group are displayed in the Current type(s) field.

• To remove an item from the group, click on it.
• To add an item to the group, click on it in the All types field.
• Click Save group to save you changes.

To set a group as the default selection group, select the group and click Set default.
