Font System
Drawings > Fonts > Font System
Set the font system used for the presentation of text, annotations and dimensions in the Hull applications' views and models. Both Windows fonts and native Eagle fonts can be used. Windows fonts are used by default. Windows fonts support Unicode character encoding.
The selected fonts are available for plot setup configurations in File > Plot Setup > Configurations. Windows fonts should be used in plotting configurations to ensure full Unicode character set support. See Configurations for more information.
- Windows Fonts (default) – Use Windows fonts. The size and aspect ratio of the texts in the graphical window will match the texts that are exported to other systems and formats like DXF, DWG and PDF.
- Windows Fonts - Scaled – Use Windows fonts with scaling. Scaling affects the width/height aspect ratio of the texts in the graphical window. Compared to the default Windows fonts, the scaled fonts appear a bit thinner and higher.
- Native Fonts – Use native Eagle fonts (.fnt files).
Note: Output formats that are generated by the ViewCompanion application do not support Windows fonts. Therefore, native Eagle font configurations must be used for those output formats. The output formats generated by ViewCompanion are indicated by a "VC" prefix, and include the following: VC-EMF, VC-WMF, VC-DWF, VC-TIFF, VC-BMP, VC-CALS, VC-DXF, VC-PDF.
Windows fonts and native fonts are managed separately, in Drawings > Fonts > Windows Fonts, and Drawings > Fonts > Native Fonts, respectively.
