Output Format

Define the output format for 3D-Models that are generated by the Hull Server. Multiple output formats are allowed, including the following. Add the desired formats from All fields to Current field(s) to select them.

  • Eagle Model
  • R-3
  • SMN (Shrinkage Manager)
  • PDMS Outfitting PML – PDMS Outfitting output with Programmable Macro Language (PML) support.
  • PDMS Outfitting
  • Hull Viewer Model (HVM)
  • FEM Database
  • Acis SAT
  • BREP (Boundary REPresentation) – Select this format if you want to export to IGES, SAT or STEP using the File > Export > 3D Hull Data function in the 3D-Contek application.
  • STEP
  • 3D Dump (3DD) – Select this format if you want to export to 3D XML using the File > Export > 3D Hull Data function in the 3D-Contek application.
  • ATX

Note: For parts in a virtual block, only the Eagle Model, Hull Viewer Model and BREP output formats will actually be generated. All other output formats will only be generated for real construction blocks.

HP (Twisted) Shellframe Accuracy

Define the accuracy of straight and twisted HP shell frames when presented in BSV format. This applies to the presentation both in Hull Viewer and in CADMATIC Outfitting.

The default setting is Exact, meaning that the presentation is on maximum detail.

You can set the presentation can be set to lower detail, by selecting Approximated. This can be useful if you want to speed up the presentation and handling of the models.

The picture below shows the presentation with maximum detail on the left, and with lower detail on the right.

Degrees For Circle Segment

Define the amount of degrees a circle segment consists of. The minimum value is 1 degree, and the maximum is 90 degrees.

This setting is applicable only if the Max. Deviation Of Circle Segment setting below is set to 0.

Max. Deviation Of Circle Segment

Define the maximum deviation for circle segments.

If the maximum deviation is set to 0, circle presentation is defined by the setting Extra > Hull Server > 3D-Models > Degrees For Circle Segment setting above.

Endcut Bending Threshold

Define the maximum threshold in mm for profile part deviation from a straight line.

The length of the profile part that is affected by the endcut is determined and then it is measured how much the part deviates from a straight line. If the result is greater than the defined threshold, the endcut will be bent.
