Orientation Texts
Production > Plate Cutting Data > Shell Plates > Orientation Texts
The orientation of a shell plate can be indicated by text markings. The settings in this dialog allow to define the text for each respective edge of the shell plate. If no text is defined for a setting, the corresponding edge will not get any text.
The system uses a heuristic method to determine the closest edge for a side: the contour point that is nearest to the center of each face of the plate's bounding box is used.
The value off or uit (or no text) will disable the setting. In this case no text will be displayed for that side.
In case the shell plate is over CL, there will be two texts instead of "Side to Centreline": "Side to Hull (Starboard)" and "Side to Hull (Port)".
Side To Centreline
Text is placed at the plate edge closest to the centre line.
Side To Hull (Starboard)
Text is placed at the plate edge closest to the outer hull of the ship on the starboard side.
Side To Hull (Port)
Text is placed at the plate edge closest to the outer hull of the ship on the port side.
Side To Bottom
Text is placed at the plate edge closest to the bottom.
Side To Top
Text is placed at the plate edge closest to the top.
Side To Aftship
Text is placed at the plate edge closest to aftship.
Side To Foreship
Text is placed at the plate edge closest to foreship.
