Vane
Production > Vane
Define the texts placed along the length, breadth, and height axes of the vane symbol, the text for the vane symbol indicating the centre line, and the vane sign direction markers for profiles.
The texts set here are used as markers in the profile sketches created with the Production > Production > Create Production Information function in the 2D/3D-Contek and Shell applications.
You must define the text for positive and negative direction in length, breath, and height (indicating ship, starboard, and top, respectively).
The text will be used as a prefix or postfix, depending of the direction of the profile. The result of the marker will be (.---> text) or (text <---.).
To store this marker in a profile sketch layout, activate the Vane sign variable in Production > Profile Sketch > Sketch Layout. You can choose the position of the marker freely.
Vane, Text For Pos. Length
The prefix text placed along the length axis of the vane symbol for positive direction profiles.
Vane, Text For Neg. Length
The prefix text placed along the length axis of the vane symbol for negative direction profiles.
Vane, Text For Pos. Breadth
The prefix text placed along the breadth axis of the vane symbol for positive direction profiles.
Vane, Text For Neg. Breadth
The prefix text placed along the breadth axis of the vane symbol for negative direction profiles.
Vane, Text For Pos. Height
The prefix text placed along the height axis of the vane symbol for positive direction.
Vane, Text For Neg. Height
The prefix text placed along the height axis of the vane symbol for negative direction.
Vane Symbol Indicating CL
The text for the vane symbol indicating the centre line. If the profile is positioned on port side, and the profile main direction is from starboard to port side, a centre line indication text is used to avoid any misunderstanding.
Text For Positive Profile Dir.
The vane sign direction marker for positive profile direction. Placed on a profile sketches or in robot files. This marker is shaped like an arrow (.--->) which can be combined with free text.
Text For Negative Profile Dir.
The vane sign direction marker for negative profile direction. Placed on a profile sketches or in robot files. This marker is shaped like an arrow (<---.) which can be combined with free text.
Storing a marker in a robot file
To store a marker on a robot file, several variables can be used.
- The VANE_LENGTE variable indicates the position of the marker. By default this is 118 mm from the start or end point of the profile. If the profile has a length smaller than 118 mm, the marker is placed at the middle of the profile.
- The VANE_TEKEN variable indicates the marker itself.
- In some cases it may be necessary specify for the robot which one of the markers to use, positive/right arrow shape (.---> text), or negative/left arrow shape (text <---.). For that, two additional variables are used: The LEFT_VANE_TEKEN variable indicates the left arrow shape (text <---.) and the RIGHT_VANE_TEKEN variable indicates the right arrow shape (.---> text).
