Templates for shell plates

Templates are (often) wooden blocks that are cut to a certain curvature. In the shell plate bending process, the templates help in checking and evaluating shape of a shell plate. The shell plate bend should exactly match the curvature of the template.

For each individual shell plate, a template set can be defined in which all the required templates for that particular shell plate are grouped. It is also possible to define a template set for multiple shell plates, for instance when jig information is required in the production and assembly phase.

The Shell Application has a separate ribbon called Template for defining the template sets and creating and modifying templates. The same ribbon bar also contains all the functions for generating the production information for the templates.
