Default selection criterion

The Default selection criterion dialog is opened when the Default selection criterion button in the General settings for report builder dialog is selected.

If the user can/should enter selection criteria for a particular option, the relevant default values of a selected layout file will be displayed in the appropriate entry boxes. These values can subsequently be changed by the user. It may be that certain values have been set in the Default selection criterion panel that will not be displayed when making the selection for the creation of a report. Nevertheless, the program will take these default values into account when creating the report.

The maximum number of default criteria is the same as the maximum number of selection criteria, viz. 20.

To set a default value for a selection criterion (data type), select that criterion in the left pane of the panel. The default value can then be entered in the entry box at the top of the panel. This can be done in the same way as entering values for selection criteria for the Create Report option, for example. To the right of the entry box is a pull-down menu from which the user can choose one of the "..", "&" , "!", or "D" operators. The ".." operator is used to indicate a range, "&" is used to merge several ranges or values into one criterion, while "!" is the exclusion operator. Thus, !100..200 equals ..99 & 201... "D" is used to display the current date in the entry box with the specified date format.

A default value can be changed by selecting a criterion in the list at the bottom of the panel. The program will then place the selected criterion in the two fields at the top of the panel. The user can then change the value in the right-hand box.
