Shell frame bending templates
Shell frame bending templates are used for checking the shape of the shell frame during the bending process. The template is a DXF file which can be nested and has the normal (internally) identifications as coded plates.
Enabling the generation of shell frame bending templates
These templates will be automatically generated during the creation of profile sketches once this has been enabled with the Production > Templates > Shell Frames > Settings > Calculate Templates setting.
Setting the output directory for shell frame bending templates
The directory in which the generated shell frame bending template DXF files will be placed can be set with the Production > Templates > Settings > Output Directory setting. This directory is also used for the face plate bending templates.
Setting the shell frame bending template DXF file name
The file name of the generated DXF file is according to the definition of the DXF file for a coded plate (Production > Plate Cutting Data > DXF Output > Settings > Filename). This file name can be extended with a prefix and/or a postfix to make it easier to identify the shell frame bending templates when they are created in the same directory as the DXF files for coded plates. The involved settings are Shellframe Prefix and Shellframe Postfix in Production > Templates > Shell Frames > Settings.
Setting the properties of the shell frame bending template
The following properties of a shell frame bending template can be set in Production > Templates > Shell Frames > Properties:
|
Template Material |
the material type |
|
Template Thickness |
the thickness of a template |
|
Template Breadth |
the breadth of a template |
|
Template Maximum Length |
the maximum length of a template |
|
Template Minimum Length |
the minimum length of the last part of a template. This prevents that the last part becomes too small and the total length is divided over the two last parts |
|
Template Extra Length Side |
the extra length on both sides of the separate templates |
|
Template Extra Length End |
the extra length for the last part of the complete template. In this part the shape of the last original part is retained |
|
Template Perpend. Endshapes |
the shell frame end shapes to be treated as perpendicular end shapes on the template. All other end shapes will be slanted using the specified relation or angle of the shell frame end shape |
