Copying reference planes
Copying a reference plane consists of copying the virtual plate and creating the reference plane. Copying a virtual plate in a reference surface block is similar to copying a regular plate; it is done with the Copy 3D-Items function. The new reference plane is saved into the shape database with the Synchronize function.
It is possible that in 3D-Contek one or more regular plates were related to the reference plane. These plates are also copied/updated along with the corresponding reference planes. In that case, the drawing(s) in the corresponding regular block(s) need to be updated.
The Recalculate Views function will update every drawing to the latest status of the construction database. It provides the option to update any changes to any hull line(s) for these drawings as well.
Note: Reference surfaces may not share the same name, therefore the name of the copy is automatically generated to be a unique. Changing the name to your own preference is recommended, but not required.
Moving reference planes
Moving a reference plane consists of moving the virtual plate in a reference surface block and updating the position of the reference plane. Moving the virtual plate is similar to moving a regular plate; it is done with the Move 3D-Items function. The new position of the reference plane is saved into the shape database with the Synchronize function.
It is possible that in 3D-Contek one or more regular plates were related to the reference plane. These plates are also moved/updated along with the corresponding reference planes. In that case, two additional steps are necessary to complete the process:
- Updating the position(s) of the regular plate(s). The Recalculate All Construction Parts function allows a regular plate in a reference plane to jump to the new position as well. Any other regular plates in the corresponding block that are related to the reference plane are also updated.
- Updating the drawing(s) in the regular block(s). The Recalculate Views function will update every drawing to the latest status of the construction database. It provides the option to update any changes to any hull line(s) for these drawings as well.
