Plates in plan view can be created in reference planes in 3D-Contek. In order to do this, a view must first be created based on the reference plane.

Creating a view in a reference plane

Creating a view in a reference plane is similar to creating a regular view, with the exception that the view must always be created as a perpendicular view.

Creating a perpendicular view provides the option to select "Reference plane", where the desired reference plane can be chosen from a drop-down list. When choosing a reference plane, its respective coordinates are displayed in the non-editable input fields.

Creating a plate in a reference plane

After creating the view in the reference plane, creating the plate is similar to creating a plate in a regular view with the exception that the thickness and the material stored in the reference plane are suggested as the default values for the plate.
