A reference plane has the following properties:
- Name
- Contour
- Thickness
- Thickness direction
- Material
The thickness, thickness direction and material of a reference plane will appear as default values for construction items to be created in the plane at a later stage.
Note: Currently, creating reference surfaces will only work when using HDB type shape databases.
Creating reference planes consists of the following steps:
- Creating a virtual plate
This starts with creating a view in which the virtual plate is created afterwards. Upon creating the virtual plate, it is required to enter the thickness, material and a name. Each reference plane must have a unique name.
- Creating the reference plane
With use of the "Synchronize" function, the plate and its properties are saved to the shape database as a reference plane. In the same sequence the Surface Intersection Server (SIS) will load the newly added reference plane and its information directly from the shape database, to make it available for use in 3D-Contek.
