Plates
One of the most frequently used operations within the 3D-Contek and 3D-Show applications is creating plates. Because plates can have very different shapes, the plate creation function has a considerable number of options.
The contour of a plate depends on the construction surrounding it, and on the hull shape. This dependence determines the topology (relations) of the plate border (or simply 'plate'). Because of this dependence, a plate may require modification after a part related to it has been moved. When a new hull database is placed in a buildingnumber, the plates related to the hull shape may have to be recalculated to adapt them to the new shell. A separate command is available for the recalculation of the plate border. CADMATIC Hull also recognizes other relations besides shape and plate relations.
In plan view, the border of a plate is shown using pen 1 (the default colour is red). No visible lines are shown where the border touches a construction part or the shell.
