Relating plates to reference planes
Plate contour boundaries can be related to reference planes in 3D-Contek. In order to do this, the reference planes must first be made visible.
Viewing a reference plane in a drawing
In 3D-Contek, reference planes can be seen in sectional view. They are represented by a cyan colored line to reveal their positions as they are stored in the shape database. They can be made visible in drawings by using the "REF" selection box located in the status bar.
Note: Because the cyan colored lines are a direct representation of the reference planes as they are stored in the shape database, it is important to note that your drawings should always be up to date with respect to the latest status of the shape database before you display the reference planes in the drawing. The best way to achieve this is by recalculating all the views in the block with use of the Recalculate Views function.
Relating a plate boundary to the reference plane
When defining a plate, relating plate boundaries to the "REF" lines is similar to relating plate boundaries to the regular hull shape line.
