Basic position of holes
The type files with numbers 51 – 99, which are stored in the uitsp, uitsp3d or uitsp2d folders in the norms, describe holes that may be created in plates or profiles. Holes are so-called attributes to plates and profiles.
Each of these type files define a hole in a two-dimensional plane. Once defined, the holes can be placed in drawings, and can be processed by the CADMATIC Hull system in the various production functions.
The type files must be written from the perspective of a particular standard position. Holes must be defined on the centre line, and they must have their standard height in the Y direction. The correct positions are shown in the image below:
A hole may be rotated, which makes its position variable. Still, it is advised to maintain this standard position, so that the engineer is given a standard position for all holes.
