Preconditions

To be able to create and modify shell plates you need a general license for the Shell application. The Shell application is separately licensed.

To create production information and code shell plates, you need the Shell Plate Development license. Flat and single-curved shell plates can be coded in the 3D-Contek application without the license however, but the system will not generate elongation reports for the coded shell plates without the license.

For generating Pin Jigs you need the Pin Jigs license.

License module Included functionality

Shell

Access to the Shell Application. Creating and saving shell views, inserting and modifying hull lines and inserting and modifying shell plates.

Shell Plate Development

Generating production information for shell plates including inserting, modifying and generating production templates for the shell plates.

Pin-Jigs

The following steps are preconditions for creating shell plates successfully:

  1. Make sure the Shell application is active. Go to the Hull menu and select Shell to start the Shell application.
  2. Load or create a drawing in the Shell application. See Creating shell views for information on how to create shell views that are optimal for creating shell plates.
  3. Hull lines are needed to determine the boundaries of the shell plate. See Hull lines for information on how to create and modify hull lines.

Once all the preconditions are fulfilled, see Creating and modifying shell plates and its subtopics for information on how to create and modify shell plates.
