Creating shell holes

Holes in shell plates can be created either as standard holes, or by using closed hull lines.

• Standard holes: Use the Fixed Hole function in the Shell application. This works the same way as when creating holes in inner construction.

• Using closed hull lines: Use the Shell Hole function in the Shell application. To make a shell hole, you must first create a closed hull line, and then convert the closed hull line into a shell hole.

  Note: Shell holes cannot be generated across or connecting shell plate boundaries when using the closed hull line method.
