Supported systems and file formats overview

CADMATIC Hull supports interfaces to several software systems using different file formats.

  • Import and export 2D views and 2D drawings from and to other drafting systems such as AutoCAD®in the AutoCAD® DXF and DWG formats.

  • Convert the 3D Hull model into AutoCAD® 3D workspace for further processing. A Hull ARX plug-in module is available for translating the 3D hull model into native AutoCAD format.

  • Export 3D hull geometry to other 3D systems according to AutoCAD®; DXF and DWG, IGES, SAT and STEP formats.

  • Import a (complete) NAPA Steel model to the CADMATIC Hull database. The existing topology in the NAPA Steel model is fully preserved and adopted by the CADMATIC Hull database. Once the model is transferred it can be used for further detailed engineering as if it had been created with CADMATIC Hull.

  • Import hull shape data in various formats: IGES, Rhino 3DM, NAPA, ACIS and AutoCAD® (polygons only).

  • Export geometric information and welding data for robot welding systems in the WisCon format (STP/XML).

  • Export Hull construction to the OCX (Open Class 3D Exchange) XML format.

  • Export data from CADMATIC Hull frame views to an XML file which can be imported to the Mars2000 software and used for scantlings analysis.

The table below provides information on the software systems supported by CADMATIC Hull, and their associated file formats.
