Working with CADMATIC eShare

You can publish sheet drawings, WBD 3D sketches and profile sketches from distributed CADMATIC Hull projects to CADMATIC eShare. The documents are first created in Hull, after which the PDFs are stored in the COS project database along with the metadata and link data.

Note: It is not possible to create rotated links for labels in Hull that are not horizontal or vertical. The system creates a horizontal label when the angle is 45 degrees or less from horizontal and a vertical label otherwise.

  • The metadata is a set of user-defined properties attached to the document. The data can be used to find and categorize the document (when creating your own hierarchy in eShare, for example).

  • The link data enables referring from the areas in the document to the parts in the model. Each link can refer to a single part (a construction part, for example) or a set of parts (a node in the WBD tree, for example).

Plant Modeller Service sends the documents to the eShare web service, which in turn stores the data in its own format in an SQL project database dedicated to the project. The construction parts are created in Hull and saved to the COS project database. In Plant Modeller, an eBrowser model (.ebm) then needs to be manually created. The model can be imported into eShare either manually or automatically.

Before being able to publish to eShare, you need to properly set up the export.
