Norms type files
The 3D-Contek, 3D-Show, CAM-Autopart, Profile List and Profile Sketches programs all use so-called type files. These files are used to define profile end types, cutouts, and (corner) holes. Their content is such that users can modify them and use them in the program. This manual explains how these files can be created and how they may be used in the CADMATIC Hull software. How to add a type file to the CADMATIC Hull system is explained in the user guide under 'Modifying icons'.
The type definition has a big influence to the construction. Changes in these type file has directly influence on the current construction. For this reason you have to be extra careful if changes are made.
Each program of the CADMATIC Hull system will use these type definitions in combination with the construction database. The visualization or other extracted information of the current construction is always according to the last changes in the type file.
For each type file there is also a type file macro present. In this file the definition of the questions is done. These questions have to be answered by the user before the type will be added into the database. The answers to these questions will be stored in the so called R variables R1 until R8. These R variables will be saved in the Hull database and can be modified with the modify functions present in the system. In most cases the values of these R variables will be used in reports and sketches and other output data. But the main purpose is to define the shape of the type itself. See for more information how to make a type macro at chapter "Type macro".
