Specifications

Specifications ensure that valid components are used in routing. Specifications can stored in the library database (available to all projects) or in the project database.

In the Project Environment dialog, the Specifications folder contains the following:

• Piping Specifications – A piping specification is a named set of piping components and design rules accepted to be used for certain type of piping.
• Beam Specifications – Used in inserting beams.
• Cable Tray Specifications – Used in the Cable Tray tool.
• Ducting Specifications – Used in air duct routing.
• Duct Part Design Rules – Used by ducting specifications, only editable via Plant Modeller.
• Insulation Specifications – Used in defining insulation for routed entities.
• Construction – Definitions for structural units such as stairways, sleeve settings, penetration settings, and so on. Only editable via Plant Modeller.
