Drawing Sheets

The drawing sheet outlines the physical dimensions and layout of a document page. A multi-page document can use either a single drawing sheet or multiple sheets. For instance, one sheet can serve as the cover page, while others can be used for pages containing the drawings. The drawing sheet can include various elements, depending on the document type's specific requirements, such as static and dynamically populated elements like text boxes, symbols, and data tables.

Drawing sheets are available in two formats:

  • DWG-based – This is the recommended format, but it is not yet supported for all document types.

  • ASCII-based – This older format works for all document types, including diagrams.

We strongly advise using the DWG format whenever possible due to its enhanced capabilities. Documents using an ASCII-based sheet can be switched to a DWG sheet through the ICGD, if the document type supports it.
