3D DWG/DXF export

You can export 3D model objects to a DWG file (*.dwg; binary format) or DXF file (*.dxf; ASCII format).

Tip: This export type can be scheduled through a Plant Modeller Service Instance, as described in Scheduling model export.

Prerequisites

• The project database contains a suitable export configuration. This configuration defines the 3D publishing control to use, the model query to use for selecting the objects to export, and other export settings, as described in 3D DXF/DWG export settings.

Do the following:

1. On the Model tab, in the Content group, select Export > 3D DWG/DXF.

2. Select the export configuration to use, and click OK.

3. In the Select Output File dialog, specify the export location and file name (the file type is determined by the export configuration), and then click Save.
