Create satellite site
Step 11: Create *.cri file using Manage Project
To create satellite site for a project, browse the project A in the CADMATIC desktop and use command Object > Manage Project. Using this command you can replicate both library and project databases. This command also creates a .cri file to be sent to the satellite site and to be used when installing new COS Replica server.
-
Click project icon and use command Object > Manage Project.
-
On the Project Info tab in Manage Project, ensure that the project info contains the following:
-
COS Server is "Replica_0"
-
Project database is "Project_A.pms"
-
Library database is "CompanyLib.lib"
-
-
On the Replication tab, click Add.
-
Click Create Replica and name the new server as "Replica_0_3".
-
Select the following options for the replica server:
-
Type of license is "CoDesigner Site"
-
Connection is "Online Mode"
-
Host name is "localhost:5027" (the one which hosts project A)
-
The replica server shares its master's user accounts
-
Installation file is "COS_Replica_0_3.cri" which is sent to satellite site.
-
Include initial database update.
-
Max number of Design Areas: 5
-
Step 12: In satellite site: install Replica_0_3 server from *.cri file
-
Use CADMATIC installation software (Custom) and click option "Install/upgrade COS server".
-
Select “New replica COS server installation” from the options.
-
Browse for the installation file you created in previous step.
-
In next steps you can accept or change the installation paths and port number.
-
Click Yes to set the status of the replica to be online.
-
After installation, use command Object > Manage COS from the CADMATIC desktop and click Connect to… to bring out the installed server in the list.
Step 13: Install satellite site

In satellite site use the CADMATIC desktop command Object > Install Satellite Site.
-
COS server is the one you installed in previous step (Replica_0_3).
-
Select "project A" to be used in satellite site.
