Primitive
You can modify real primitives or 3D objects resulting from duplicate (Tools > Duplicate) or imported 3D (Tools > Import 3D File) actions. End cuts of objects are ignored while the object is being edited. When edits are done then the end cuts are re-computed if they are still valid.
Note: When you modify an object all the duplicated objects (made with Tools > Duplicate) created from this object are re-evaluated. If you have made copies of the object with Copy & Transform, the copied objects are not re-evaluated.
All primitives support the body movements "move" and "rotate". Some primitives support rotation only around a given axis while some can be rotated around the selected point. For primitives that have two definition points, body movements will maintain the association between the points. For example, if you have parameterized the distance between the end points of a cylinder, then this will remain intact even though both definition points will have a new position when the cylinder is moved.
Editing a primitive
Do the following:
-
On the Component Modeller tab, in the Edit group, click Primitive.
-
Select the primitive you want to edit and press Enter.
