Line

On the Home tab, the Line group contains the following tools.

• Line
  • Change Linetype
  • Cut
  • Join

Change Linetype

In the Line group, the Change Linetype tool allows changing the linetype of connection lines. Select the target linetype from the menu, pick the lines whose linetype to change, and press Enter to apply the change to the selected lines.

Note: You cannot undo/redo linetype changes.

Cut

In the Line group, select Cut to split a pipe run or instrument line into two parts. Move the cursor to the cut point and press L or select Into Line from the context menu.

Join

In the Line group, select Join to join pipe runs or instrument lines. Typically, you do this when lines are connected (end at the same point) but are not yet joined.

After activating the Join tool, you are prompted to select the first line and then the second line.

• If the selected lines are connected and belong to the same pipeline, they are automatically joined.

• If the selected lines are not connected you are prompted to confirm the joining. The tool tries to connect them via the shortest way. (If the line ends are not near each other, it might be better to draw the missing segment manually; start by joining to the end of the pipe run.)

• If the selected lines do not belong to the same pipeline, you are prompted to select which pipeline to use for the joined line.

  

• If the pipe runs do not have the same data, for example in regard to Nominal Size, the data of the first line is used for the joined line.
